We are a welcoming, supportive, and loving community which trusts God, seeks to live like Jesus, and serves others.
A Note from our Pastor
We share this mission statement during our weekly worship services. It is the goal and desire of our Christian fellowship to be a vital force for good in our community. With God’s help, we can reach out by:
WELCOMING – all are welcome at Kingston United Methodist Church. Jesus came for the world and every person is welcome to come and experience God’s love and grace.
BEING SUPPORTIVE – Kingston United Methodist Church is more than just a place to gather. We truly are a church family. God is the common thread that binds us together in Christian love. We support one another as we share life together.
LOVING – Christian love is a very powerful gift from God. Our church family is filled with loving people that give beyond the norm. Giving of one’s self, resources, time, talents, and Christian witness are all part of sharing Christian love.
TRUSTING GOD – Without God we are nothing. With God there is hope! It is God who calls us, saves us, frees us and unites us. We study and believe the teachings of both the Old and New Testaments. We trust God and give him thanks for the connection of the United Methodist Church. We trust God through the teachings of John Wesley and the principles found in The United Methodist Book of Discipline.
LIVING LIKE JESUS – We believe that Jesus was fully divine and also fully human. In his humanness (incarnation) Jesus modeled for humanity how we should live according to God’s commands. Jesus’ teachings are paramount in Christian living and United Methodist strive to live a life as Jesus lived. Jesus is our Savior, teacher, model and guide. Through Jesus we find hope, assurance, forgiveness, salvation, grace and life eternal.
SERVING OTHERS – Kingston United Methodist Church is missions oriented outreach fellowship seeking to serve the least, lost, and marginal in our communities. Jesus modeled Christian charity and Kingston United Methodist Church seeks to serve and not be served. We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus – to reach a hurting and dying community in hopes that the world will be transformed for Jesus.
My door is always open. Feel free to call me at the office or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” Psalm 122:1 (KJV). Come, let us join together in Worship as we grow together in God’s love and grace.
Peace and joy, Pastor Todd.
