Volunteers Needed

Choctaw Mission Applications Available – Volunteers Needed

The annual Choctaw Mission Team dates for 2017 will be June 24th through June 30th. Again this year, Kingston United Methodist Church Mission Team hopes to send several volunteer missionaries with the Choctaw Mission Team to Philadelphia Mississippi to help provide support to the Choctaw Tribe. The mission will primarily focus on Vacation Bible School for upwards of 175 children, youth and adults at Great Spirit United Methodist Church in the Bogue Chitto Community. Daily mission projects will also be included.

For over thirty years the Holston Annual Conference has sent mission teams to help with this annual mission. A brochure and applications as well as other vital information is available in the church office. Please see Delbert Aycock, Beth Kincaid or Rev. Todd Chancey for more information.

Christmas Cantata

 

The Kingston United Methodist Church Choir will present a Christmas Cantata “Joy To The World”, on Sunday, December 11th at 6:30 pm in the church sanctuary. Narration by Lori Tucker of WATE TV, Refreshments will be served afterward. The church is located at 212 W Church St, Kingston, TN. The public is invited to attend.

Children’s Choir

The Kingston United Methodist Children’s Choir will present “All I Want For Christmas”, Sunday, December 18th at 6:30 pm in the church sanctuary. The public is invited and refreshments will be served afterward. The church is located at 212 W Church St, Kingston, TN.

Pastor Todd to Highlight Wesley Pilgrimage Experiences in England

You are all cordially invited to a COVERED DISH SUPPER this Sunday, JULY 31, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Meats, drinks and paper products will be provided, please bring side dishes, salads and desserts for your family and extra to share. After supper we will move to the sanctuary where Pastor Todd will be giving highlights of his experiences following the Wesleyan Pilgrimage.

This educational experience will highlight many historic sites that impacted Methodism in the 18th and 19th centuries. Come and learn about John and Charles Wesley and their up-bringing in Epworth, learn about their studies at Oxford and Christ Church, hear stories of the founding of the Foundry and New Room in Bristol, and see pictures of Wesley House and Chapel in London. Also, learn about the early years of Frances Asbury and his love for the Methodist Movement in America.

This fun filled educational experience will be a blessing to all who can attend. Come and learn more about the people called Methodist in England and also in America.
