Jennifer Shelton, Director of Family Ministries
Hi, my name is Jennifer Shelton and I am excited about joining the staff at Kingston UMC as the Director of Family Ministries! I am originally from Knoxville, TN and was raised in the Methodist church, attending both Bethel UMC and Cokesbury UMC. Being raised in the United Methodist Church, I had the opportunity to attend Wesley Woods Camp, Resurrection, and Chrysalis, which is the youth version of Walk to Emmaus. In the summer of 2011, I spent 3 months in Uganda, Africa doing mission work in a small village. It was during this time that I felt a strong calling to ministry. I moved to Cleveland, TN to attend Lee University, where I was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Elementary Education with high honors. While at Lee, I met and married Andrew Shelton. We welcomed our son William in the summer of 2014. Our family has recently relocated back to Knoxville, our home of the Big Orange. I am most excited about getting to know the community while showing the love of Christ in all things. My life verse is Romans 12:12, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, constant in prayer.” I am excited about my position as Director of Family Ministries and am excited about working with parents, children, and the youth of our church. I look forward to getting to know you, the congregation as we work together to move the church forward into the future.
